Hello dears,
I’m writing this morning from sunny California (as opposed to the northern, more grey California I’ve recently escaped) and I have to say, I’m having such a ball. I do apologize for my lack of anything on socials this last week, and I wish I could tell you why but unfortunately I’m bound by NDA. So, I can’t say anything besides that and a mention of how I love the firm, unforgiving bondage of legal contract.
I’m quite thrilled to be coming back to NYC this week, and am looking forward to some grand dates already on the books. My schedule is a bit full during the shortest— and possibly most romantic—month, so be sure to schedule in advance. A friendly reminder to all those reading who will be spending their Valentines with a provider or partner… Make those reservations now!!! As a smalltime insider of nyc restaurants and hotel scene, I can not emphasize how busy this time of year is for the service industry. Call in a favor if you must… and only if you have the proper amount of finesse…
Oh, my 2nd house Venus is Virgo is showing…
Anyway! Here are my top three dates for the month of February…
For the daytime crowd… I recommend taking a floral design class in your city. Nyc has a ton of really great ones. The New York botanical garden offers some professional level classes that sell out weeks in advance, but I hear are marvelous. East Village Japanese cultural center Resobox has an ikebana class on February 15th, and Stems Brooklyn offers a a two hour signature workshop where you can make your own floral arrangements on a regular basis as well.
For the evening crowd… You can’t go wrong with with dinner and a show at the iconic Duane Park! With a stage that’s been graced by world class burlesque performers, and a four course meal to accompany, this is an ideal date for diners and Dita lovers alike. Duane Park has two seatings on the Tuesday the 14th and otherwise operates from Thursday to Sunday.
For the evening… into day crowd… Anyone who knows me, knows I love a staycation. Who could forget the time Goddess Kayla and accidentally quarantined at the Plaza in March of 2020. For the hopeless romantic, and adorner of grand gesture, the Lowell Hotel has a show-stopping package titled Love by A Thousand Roses. Included in the suite stay are chocolate covered strawberries, pastry, a three course dinner for two, a bottle of rose, breakfast (with Osetra caviar included), and…one thousand long stemmed roses. This package must be reserved with at least 7 days notice, so inquire no later than this Monday with the hotel! For those of more minimalist taste… the Aman in New York is calling my name. Recently opened, and rumored to have a secret club inside, we can party all night long and hit the spa in the morning.. or whenever we wake up…
Happy romancing!
